Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez — a couple that we used to talk about a whole lot — are still together. That’s fine. But now, J to the L-O is admitting that the thing that really brought them together wasn’t a cobb salad, oh no. It was a sext.
Lopez tells Vanity Fair that it took three or four outings before she admitted yes, she was single. And yes, they were going on dates. That Rodriguez isn’t the brightest sometimes, is he? “I didn’t know if it was a date,” Rodriguez admits to the magazine. “Maybe we were seeing each other at night because of her work schedule.” OK, my dude.
Then, on one special night, Rodriguez decided to up his game. JK, as if he has any.
“She told me around the third or fourth inning that she was single,” he says. UGH STOP USING BASEBALL WORDS DUDE. “I had to get up and go re-adjust my thoughts. I went to the bathroom and got enough courage to send her a text.”
That text? It said, “You look sexy AF.” Rodriguez is a regular Rainer Maria Rilke, y’all! “And then it took a turn,” Lopez admits. Oh, brother.
For what it’s worth, this is the kind of self-obsessed couple that poses with each other for a Vanity Fair cover, because they both have written dissertations on doing the most. They’re pretty desperate to be taken seriously — so it’s basically impossible to. But congratulations on your Vanity Fair cover! That’s like, a Meghan Markle sized accomplishment.
