Jamaal Charles status vs. Patriots: Probable

Jamaal Charles Chiefs

Like the Patriots, Kansas City has also gotten off to a rough start after making the postseason last year. The Chiefs (1-2) fell to the Titans in Week 1 and at Denver in Week 2 before rebounding against the Dolphins last week.

The run game remains Kansas City’s strength, headlined by Jamaal Charles, who is expected to play Monday after missing last week with an ankle injury. Charles remains one of the more dynamic backs in the game, when healthy, as he has rushed for over 1,100 yards in four of the last five seasons. Charles has only faced the Patriots once. It was the 2008 season opener and the first pro game of Charles’ career. Pats fans would rather forget about that outing as Sept. 7, 2008 also happened to be the day Tom Brady went down with a season-ending ACL. Injury.

The Pats will also likely see a lot of running back Knile Davis, the second-year man out of Arkansas, who ran for 132 yards and a touchdown in the Chiefs’ win over the Dolphins last week.
