The media has a special affinity for Jennifer Aniston. No matter what she – or her exes – does, the rumor mill will always find a way to keep the 47-year-old actress front and center.
But Aniston herself recognizes the harm in these invasive stories. She recently penned an op-ed on Huffington Post slamming tabloids for using her to objectify women and promote limited, sexist narratives. More recently, she sat down with Marie Claire to explain her decision to speak out. “My marital status has been shamed; my divorce status was shamed; my lack of a mate had been shamed; my nipples have been shamed. It’s like,Why are we only looking at women through this particular lens of picking us apart? Why are we listening to it?I just thought:I have worked too hard in this life and this career to be whittled down to a sad, childless human.” Looks like Jennifer has lost her effs to give.
