The “Douzable Dance”lives to step another day. And apparently, the New York Jets showed him the “Schmoney.”
On Wednesday, the Jets re-signed defensive end Leger Douzable, bringing back the veteran for a third year with the team. Set to enter his eighth season in the league, Douzable had 25 tackles last year, the second highest of his career. His 2.5 sacks were the highest in his seven years in the league. Per a league source, the contract is for one-year.
Douzable has become a bit of a fan favorite amongst Jets fans for his animated sack dances and his engaging personality. He’s also become entrenched in the media as well, becoming a regular on SNY. Also on Wednesday, the Jets made official that linebacker Erin Henderson was signed to a contract. The news was originally broken by NJ.com on Tuesday afternoon.
Henderson, who has had his troubles with the law, is an aggressive and hard-hitting linebacker who spent the first six years of his career with the Minnesota Vikings. Last year in 14 games, he posted a career-high 112 tackles and four sacks. He is set to turn 29-years-old this July.
