JFK assasination was an inside job, 9/11 was a conspiracy according to Michael Bennett and Pete Carroll

There are certainly some deep thinkers in the Pacific Northwest. There are also some world class whack jobs.

Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett and the team’s head coach, Pete Carroll, can be classified in either category – depending on how high you personally register on the Ventura Scale.

Bennett made his opinion known on the No. 1 American conspiracy theory of all-time this week – the idea that it was an inside job to kill President John F. Kennedy.

“I don’t like [Detroit Lions quarterback] Matt Stafford much,” Bennett told Curtis Crabtree. “He’s from Dallas. They killed the President … I hold it against him.”

For the record, Bennett played high school football in Houston.

Bennett’s coach is no stranger to talking conspiracy theory, either. Carroll famously grilled retired four-star general Peter Chiarelli (not the NHL executive) once upon a time about whether or not 9/11 was an inside job or not. Chiarelli reportedly had to leave the room because Carroll had so many questions.

“Any notoriety is good I guess,” Carroll vaguely told USA Today prior to last year’s Super Bowl regarding his beliefs of what actually went down on 9/11. “I will always be interested in the truth, yeah.”

Conspiracy theories always seem to follow the Seahawks as former Super Bowl MVP Malcolm Smith (now a Raider) had his Super Bowl MVP press conference oddly interrupted by a 9/11 conspiracy theorist in February of 2014 (see video above).
