Justin Timberlake is known for his many talents in the music and movie industries. And back in December, JT revealed that he’s actually a quadruple threat: a singer, dancer, actor and miraculous fruit inventor. A viral Instagram video showed him raving about “brasperberries” — raspberries stuffed with blueberries (because they fit perfectly together). Then JT’s berry talents were enforced this month when a Bai juice ad featured the former NSYNC member assembling braspberries on screen. And now, Driscoll’s has announced that it’s working to bring this fated fruit combo to stores.

In the commercial, a news anchor reports that JT “keeps putting blueberries inside of raspberries,” to which the celeb states matter-of-factly that they have a name: braspberries, of course.
If you haven’t seen the ad from Bai juice, watch below for braspberry goodness (and a good laugh).
Is Driscoll’s really coming out with braspberries?
Last week, the Driscoll’s Instagram account posted what appeared to be a product announcement, writing, “New berry launch! Fresh from the farm, #Braspberries are an out of this world flavor combination! @justintimberlake, be on the lookout in a grocery store near you,” with the hashtags #FinestBerries #newproduct #newproductalert.
This left fans wondering, “Is this — THE braspberry — a real thing?” According to Food&Wine, Driscoll’s isn’t joking.
A spokesperson told the site that braspberries are currently being packaged — “handpicked” and “handstuffed” — for promotional purposes only, but that “Driscoll’s is working quickly to look for ways to scale for potential retail sales.”
Frances Dillard, Driscoll’s director of marketing, global brand lead, said it makes sense that the company, which “commands 90% market share of raspberries and is the trusted brand for all fresh berries,” would take on this venture. “From a social media perspective, we saw the braspberry craze take off,” Dillard explained to Food&Wine, “and it was only logical that Driscoll’s as the berry market leader would innovate the opportunity.”
A spokesperson confirmed to Metro that, right now, the Driscoll’s braspberry boxes are only available for promotional purposes, adding, “But because the best times are better when they’re shared, we encourage families to have fun creating their own braspberries by using a package of raspberries and blueberries. Both berries are in season!”
From JT’s Instagram to his hilarious cameo in the latest Bai juice commercial to (hopefully) supermarkets nationwide, here’s to enjoying braspberry after braspberry. As JT asserted in the December video that started it all, “Is it a coincidence that the blueberry fits perfectly in the raspberry? I think not.”
