Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting vs. Leighton Meester in 2015’s first Feminism-Off!

Oh, this should be fun. We’re apparently kicking off the New Year with a continuing debate on what a feminist is and who wants to be one. Awesome sauce! First up, Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, who responds to a Redbook query about whether or not she considers herself a feminist with, “Is it bad if I say no?” (The answer? Possibly.) She saves some face by showing enough self-awareness to know where she stands, explaining, “I was never that feminist girl demanding equality, but maybe that’s because I’ve never really faced inequality.” Perceptive, that.

But! New challenger approaching! Former “Gossip Girl” star Leighton Meester was posed the very same question during a radio interview and instead replied, “Yeah, it shouldn’t be some sort of sensational news item” that she considers herself a feminist. “It’s something that I think all people should say about themselves.” You hear that, Cuoco-Sweeting? All people. You’re not going to just sit there and take that, are you?
