Two years after buying the Greenwich Village duplex, Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards is selling the place.
Richards and his wife Patti Hansen bought the 1 Fifth Avenuepenthouse for $10.5 million, and now stand to make a profit by listing the four-bedroom, four-bathroom co-op for $12.23 million, according to StreetEasy. The real estate site describes the unit as appearing “pristine” with “at least one unfurnished room.” Most recently it was remodeled in 2011 by architect Joe Serrins to create a combined three-unit duplex. According to the listing, the apartment’s features include three setback terraces, an open staircase with leather wrapped bronze handrail, a library or guest bedroom that can be fully separated from the rest of the floor by a large sliding wall, and an upper level with two winged bedrooms, with en-suite bathrooms. The building itselfwas originally a luxury hotel built in 1929, and features Art Deco details.
Curbed didn’t know whether Richards and Hansen were looking for another New York City home, but did say that theystill maintain an East Coast residence in Weston, Connecticut.
