Visiting Boston in April, I shivered in my sweatshirt, jeans and coat. No one else seemed to mind it. Apparently, Boston is pretty hard-core when it comes to handling the cold. If the holiday season just isn’t the holiday season without some delicate flakes falling from the sky, you might be getting your Christmas wish a little early.

Whether you find the icy bite of wind frightful or delightful, The Weather Channel is calling for 1 to 3 inches of snow overnight. The lows will be around 30 degrees overnight and some rain will be mixed in the precipitation.

By Monday morning, the clouds will still block the sun, but temperatures will reach a high of 44 degrees. About a half-inch of rain is expected in the morning and WCVB5 said to expect “slick and slushy road conditions” for your Monday morning commute.

“When I got up this morning, the thermometer read a cold 10 degrees,” Boston.com’s David Epstein wrote. “This is certainly the coldest morning since February and significantly colder than what you’d expect, even in mid-December.”

As of 1:30 p.m., we’re still at our expected high of 34 degrees, although it does feel like 27, The Weather Channel reported. The sun will set tonight around 4:11 p.m.
