Line spread odds pick for Memphis Tulane and UCLA Colorado

Memphis, Tulane
A glance at the college football slate for Friday.

Memphis Tigers (-14) @ Tulane Green Wave
The Memphis Tigers (3-1) are heavily favored to win their AAC matchup with the Tulane Green Wave (1-3) on Friday night (8 p.m., ESPN2). That is mainly because of their dynamic offense, which is 11th in the nation in points per game. For a level playing field for daily fantasy football play at FantasyDraft.
Quarterback Brady White has been nearly unstoppable through four games, completing 72 percent of his passes for over 1,000 yards and 12 TDs compared to just one INT. Running back Darrell Henderson averages an incredible 12.2 yards per carry and has already rushed for over 700 yards and eight TDs this season. The Tigers are first in the country in yards per play on offense, compared to Tulane’s 101st defensive ranking. Memphis should be able to pile on the points in Yulman Stadium.
The Green Wave’s attack is not nearly as effective, as signal caller Johnathan Banks completes less than 50 percent of his passes. The Tigers’ top-20 pass stoppers should stymie his efforts on Friday night. Tail back Corey Dauphine has big-play ability, but he’s not the kind of athlete that can put a team on his back.
The Tigers have been highly-reliable as road favorites of late, covering in five of their last six in this situation. Take Memphis to win their 12th straight over Tulane (7-3 ATS last 10 matchups).

Prediction: Memphis wins, 56-17
The play: Memphis -14

UCLA Bruins @ Colorado Buffaloes (-10)
Chip Kelly’s UCLA Bruins (0-3) will try to get in the win column for the first time in 2018 when they face the undefeated Colorado Buffaloes (3-0) at Folsom Field on Friday evening (9 p.m., FS1).
The controversy surrounding quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson and his father, Michael, calling out Chip Kelly on Twitter has had two weeks to fester. Kelly’s offense that made him look like a genius in Oregon has failed to catch on through three games in UCLA, as the Bruins aren’t even in the top 100 in the nation in points, yards per game or yards per play. Colorado won’t give DTR or his backup, Wilson Speight, any time to get comfortable, as their defense has already accounted for 10 sacks through their first three games.
UCLA’s defense is nothing to fear either, as they’re 112th in points allowed through three games. Buffaloes signal caller Steven Montez is highly effective in the pocket, especially when he can find wide out Laviska Shenault Jr, who’s accounted for over half of Montez’s passing yards this season.
Colorado has dominated this matchup of late, covering in four of their last five with UCLA, so ride the wave with the Buffaloes at home on Friday night.

Prediction: Colorado wins, 31-17

The play: Colorado -10
