Man on a Mission: Successful entrepreneur Sam Sisakhti helps the underprivileged and promotes positive body image

Sam Sisakhti is a man on a mission. The young successful entrepreneur founded: www.ustrendy.com which specializes in fashion for juniors and young women and is currently one of the largest independent fashion sites in the world.

Sisakhti has now launched a philanthropic endeavor called “Believe in Yourself.” The program has provided thousands of dresses to girls and young women who could not otherwise afford them, to wear at their upcoming school dances. This Fall, UsTrendy is providing dresses for fall and winter formal dresses.

The “Believe in Yourself Project” is helping to replace the poor body image that affects many girls and women. This image is heightened by what the traditional fashion industry deems as beautiful.

” Women are expected to appear a certain way and live up to a manufactured and unrealistic notion of what beauty is. Its really important we shatter these notions for them at an early age.” Says Sisakhti

At the same time, strained finances can prevent many girls from keeping up with what’s trending or cool, making them feel isolated among their friends for not being able to afford clothing that is deemed as “in” socially. So Sisakhti has been donating thousands of dresses to underprivileged girls around the country to wear to their school dances.

” I am so excited to be starting this charity and have been moved and humbled by the girls who I have come in contact with during this cause,” says UsTrendy Founder Sam Sisakhti.

Sisakhti seeks to create a mentor program that will provide mentoring services and other support and also bring in women speakers to talk to the girls. The aim is to promote a positive body image and healthy self esteem among young women at an early age, empowering these young girls to take on active social roles within their school communities and to feel good about themselves.

Donations began last winter. “It is truly amazing experience to hear many of the girls say that they now have the confidence to attend their first school dance, now that they have a dress that they feel good about wearing,” says Sisakhti.
