Matt Damon may be a Hollywood hotshot these days, but that hasn’t stopped the actor from having fun in his hometown.
“The Martian” and “Good Will Hunting” star was all smiles during his latest trip back to Boston last weekend. The 46-year-old Cambridge native spent his Thirsty Thursday hitting the lanes at Kings Back Bay during a fun night out with the family.
Damon showed off his pearly whites as he autographed a bowling pin for the local hotspot, which Kings showed off on its Instagram account, accompanied by the perfect hashtag: #GoodWillBowling.
Aside from practicing on his strikes in his free time, it’s unclear whether Damon was working on any business during his latest trip to town. Perhaps he used his time in Boston to scout out locations for his next project set in the Hub.
The actor and filmmaker is set to serve as an executive producer—opposite his best bud Ben Affleck—on a new television series titled “City on a Hill.” The show, which received a pilot order from Showtime, is a fictionalized account of how local law enforcement successfully took on the city’s serious crime problems in the early ’90s, a moment some have dubbed the “Boston Miracle.”
“Suburbicon,” Damon’s latest big screen out directed by George Clooney, also released its first trailer last week. The flick stars the Boston-bred actor as a ’50s dad who wants revenge against the mob after they kill his wife and destroy his home.
Despite its moribund premise, the film will actually be more a dark comedy, which shouldn’t be a surprise considering that it was written by Joel and Ethan Coen. “Subirbicon” is set to hit theaters on Oct. 27.
