An MBTA conductor was killed and three others were hurt in a Thursday morning shooting near Fenway Park.

Boston police described a chaotic scene with hundreds of people fleeing after a shooting outside the Who’s on First bar on Yawkey Way, WCVB reported, adding that bars in the area were crowded after a night of high school football games at Fenway.

One man, identified as Jephthe Chery, was found dead, WCVB added.

Chery was a conductor for MBTA Commuter Rail and a Hyde Park resident, reports said.

“MBTA Commuter Rail and Keolis Commuter Services mourns the senseless loss of conductor Jephthe Chery,” a Keolis statement to the Boston Herald said. “He was beloved and respected by his friends and colleagues on the railroad. Today we think deeply of his family, friends and co-workers.”

The other victims were three men, all in their 20s, who had wounds that police said were not life-threatening.

“Two of the (wounded) victims are well known to us,” Boston police Commissioner William Evans was quoted in the Herald. “Whether they were the targets we’re not sure, but every indication right now is that the (murdered man) had nothing to do with what was playing out on the street, and that’s what bothers me more than anything.”

Police are asking the public to share pictures or videos that may show the shooting, Fox Boston reported.

“Please send us the footage, help us with the investigation. For God’s sake, it’s Thanksgiving. We shouldn’t have these types of crimes. But unfortunately it did so we’re going to need everyone’s help,” Boston Police Superintendent in Chief William Gross was quoted by Fox.

This is thesecond recent shooting near Fenway Park, WCVB reported, stating that, in September, two women were shot leaving the same bar.

Boston Mayor Marty Walsh and Police Commissioner William Evans spoke Thursday about the previous troubles with the bar, saying officers were inside just prior to the shooting to check for any potential issues, according to WCVB.

Fenway Park asked those attending any Thanksgiving Day football games to enter at Gate B at the corner of Van Ness and Ipswich streets, as Yawkey Way remains closed, WCVB added.
