The Mets addressed one of their most glaring needs Monday night, landing Tyler Clippard from the Oakland A’s in exchange for pitching prospect Casey Meisner.
Clippard has been involved in trade rumors nearly all season but he performed well as the closer for the struggling A’s. He owns a 2.79 ERA and is 17-for-21 in save opportunities. He will surely move into a set-up man role with the Mets as JeurysFamilia continues to rack up saves. Familiahas 27 on the season.
