Except for probably Jeff Bridges, many celebrities seem to love working out at SoulCycle, even when they’re on vacation.
A few famous faces recently popped into the cycling studio’s Massachusetts locations during their trips to the Bay State last week. As President Barack Obama and his family spent some time vacationing on Martha’s Vineyard, former first lady Michelle Obama was spotted getting her sping on at the chain’s pop-up at Evolve in Edgartown, according to the Boston Globe.
While cycling enthusiasts probably shouldn’t expect to run into the ex-FLOTUS, locals can still check out the pop-up for themselves through Sunday, Aug. 27. Dubbed Destination SOUL: Martha’s Vineyard, the temporary workout event, located at 250 Upper Main Street, features SoulCycle’s popular 45-minute classes along with plenty of smartwater to stay hydrated.
Meanwhile, Amy Schumer popped into a SoulCycle closer to Boston last week, but for a different reason. The actress was in town filming her upcoming comedy, “I Feel Pretty,” in the South End.
In addition to shooting scenes along Tremont Street at restaurants like House of Siam On Tremont and Metropolis Cafe, Schumer also took the trek over to Dedham. The comedian filmed on location at the brand new SoulCycle at Legacy Place, where she even found time to fit in a real workout and plug her paperback book, according to a humorous video on her Instagram page.
Written and directed by Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein, “I Feel Pretty” stars Schumer as a woman who becomes extremely over-confident in her self after suffering a head injury. The comedy, which is eyeing a summer 2018 release date, will also feature performances by model and actress Emily Ratajkowski as well as Academy Award nominee Michelle Williams.
