NASA’s Cassini spacecraft, which has been taking images of Saturn since 2014, snapped a photograph of Mimas, one of the planet’s 62 visible moons. Its diameter measures 246 miles wide and features a huge crater on the side that looks like a famous weapon to destroy planets that appeared in the film series “Star Wars.” Named after the icy moon’s discoverer, astronomer William Herschel, the crater stretches 86 mileswide, almost one-third of the diameter of Mimas.
