With Winter Storm Stella winding down, New York City’s above-ground subway service will be restored beginning at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, the MTA announced. Metro-North will also resume limited hourly service from 6 to 11 p.m.on the Hudson, Harlem and New Haven lines.
Gov. Cuomo, in consultation with state officials, suspended above-ground service on the subway system at 4 a.m. Tuesday, in anticipation of the storm. Metro-North service was stopped entirely at noon. Express subway service in New York City will resume at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, and possibly earlier, the MTA said.
Buses are expected to run normally at around 5 a.m. on Wednesday.
Railway service on Staten Island has been fully restored.
