National Coffee Day 2018 deals you won’t want to miss

National Coffee Day 2018 deals

Coffee drinks come in many forms — frappuccinos, lattes, espressos, Americanos, black like the dead of night — the list is rather long. To celebrate that cup of joe you can’t get through your a.m. emails without, a national holiday was born, and National Coffee Day 2018 is coming in hot (pun intended).

Otherwise known as the best celebration ever, National Coffee Day falls on Saturday, September 29 this year.

Whether you like to hit up your local Dunkin’ (bye-bye “Donuts”) or use your favorite Drinkfinity pods on the go, coffee is a wonderful thing. As T.S. Eliot once said, “I have measured out my life with coffee spoons.”

If you prefer tea, that’s fine too. Just know that a lot of people drink coffee. In fact, reports state that the rate of Americans who drink a cup daily is the highest it’s been in six years.

A study commissioned by the National Coffee Association found that 64 percent of Americans drink a cup of coffee every day.

In honor of National Coffee Day, here’s how you can get free coffee this weekend — plus other deals you won’t want to miss.

National Coffee Day 2018: Other deals

Dollar General is offering a $1 off digital coupon for bottled McCafé Frappé. We’re told you can access that coupon via the Dollar General app and website. You can also buy 2 bottled McCafé Frappé drinks for $3 at Kroger and one of these bottles for $2 at Target.

Starbucks is not offering National Coffee Day deals this Saturday. Instead, it’s giving back to Puerto Rico, whose coffee industry has suffered in the aftermath of last year’s Hurricane Maria.

A Starbucks spokesperson tells Metro via email, “we know the hard work and pride that goes into your cup, starting with the farmers who grow the coffee beans, all the way to the baristas. This National Coffee Day, we’re focused on providing continued assistance to help Puerto Rico recover following the devastation of Hurricane Maria one year ago, where the coffee industry was decimated.”

The company is donating two million coffee seeds to help rebuild that industry, and “The Starbucks Foundation and EFI Foundation (our licensee partner in Puerto Rico) are also giving a three-year, $583,000 grant to World Coffee Research to improve seed quality and growing practices on the island.”
