If you’re worried about missing even a single minute of the upcoming PyeongChang Olympics, you’ll only have to find the nearest LinkNYC kiosk to see the latest highlights.
NBC Olympics, a division of NBC Sports Group, partnered with smart cities tech and media company Intersection to broadcast exclusive Olympic content on the more than 1,300 LinkNYC kiosks across the city.
NBC’s digital-based content for the Olympic Winter Games, which take place in PyeongChang, South Korea, Feb. 9 through Feb. 25, will include morning highlights, medal counts, primetime previews, schedules, real-time alerts and more.
The Olympics coverage isn’t just relegated to New York City, though. Chicago residents will be able to see the content on digital urban panels and platform displays in the Chicago Transit Authority, and Philadelphians can see it on digital bus shelters, urban panels and platform displays throughout SEPTA, PATCO and city streets.
“Whether walking the streets of New York, riding the Chicago L or waiting in Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station, Olympics fans in these three cities will be surrounded by the excitement of the Winter Games,” Gary Zenkel, president of NBC Olympics, said in a statement. “Emerging media platforms like the LinkNYC network in New York City represent another way for NBCUniversal to reassemble the television audience by extending the reach of our Olympic coverage, content and promotion to spaces where the American audience now consumes media.”
