Nestea brings Tiny House tour, free tastings to Boston Harborfest

Nestea

The Tiny House craze is coming to Boston this weekend, courtesy of the folks at Nestea.

The tea mavens are touring the country with a custom built mini home to hype up the brand’s focus on a “less is more” philosophy. After recently debuting in New York City, the Tiny House is hitting the road and will make its first stop in the Bay State, along with a free tasting, during Boston Harborfest, July 1-2.

On Saturday and Sunday, Nestea’s roaming home will set up shop at the Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park, where visitors can check out the tiny house while sampling the company’s new line of beverages. The premium brewed iced teas on hand are made with only tea, real sugar, water, rooibos and citric acid, while the reformulated classic teas feature real sugar and stevia extracts to sweeten things up. Each of the teas are GMO free and are not made with high fructose corn syrup or artificial and flavors.

As expected, things can get cramped in the traveling residence if more than five people try to check it out at once, so don’t try to pack into the space like an Orange Line train at rush hour. The tiny house is only 200 square feet, which is less than half the average size of a studio apartment in the Boston area.

Despite the close quarters, the home does have several cool features, including a foldable kitchen table, a living room couch that can turn into a lounger, a cutting board located above the trash area, plus air conditioning to keep everyone cool during the summer heat. The house was created by Erik and Chrissy Kopplin, the husband and wife team behind the New York-based design company KCC Design + Build.

Following its trip to Boston, the Nestea’s tiny house will head over to Chicago.
