According to polling done by WBUR in the days before the primary, 39 percent of those polled said they would support Attorney General Martha Coakley, a Democrat, while 34 percent said they would support Republican Charlie Baker. Twenty percent said they were undecided, according to WBUR.
This past Tuesday, Coakley beat out challengers Steven Grossman — the state’s Treasurer — and Don Berwick, a former Obama health official.
Baker, meanwhile, trounced his GOP rival, Shrewsbury businessman Mark Fisher.
Three independents will also be vying for the Corner Office in the general election: venture capitalist John McCormick, businessman Evan Falchuck and conservative activist Scott Lively.
The general election is Nov. 4.
