While many people were busy snapping and sharing photos to celebrate their Fourth of July weekend, one particular NYC subway photo melted the hearts of many and has gone viral.
On July 2, New Yorker Rachel MacKnight was riding the C train when she spotted two families smiling and interacting with each other. She quickly snapped a photo, and since then, it has spread like wildfire online.
The photo shows a young girl and her family smiling at a woman holding a baby. The two families appear to be from different backgrounds, yet they both are sharing the same joyful emotion.
While many people may not think much of this moment, MacKnight felt it was a heartwarming moment that celebrates diversity.

Since the photo was posted, it has received more than 12,000 retweets and 49,000 likes. Some users shared their thoughts by replying to MacKnight’s tweet:

Reddit user Go_Habs_Go31 posted the pic, and it received over 95,000 points.
Despite the photo receiving over 6,500 comments, at least one person thought they would comment on the shoes.
This isn’t the first time a photo was snapped on the subway that displayed kindness in its purist form.
A few months ago, Brooklyn resident Jackie Summer snapped a photo of a couple in traditional Hassidic clothing making room for a Muslim woman who needed a seat so she could nurse her child on Easter Sunday.
