New Yorkers get nearly naked for charity

It was perfect weather Saturday for New Yorkers to run through the streets in their underwear.

No, this wasn’t an impromptu street performance or just the latest insane local caught on video, it was all to benefit the Children’s Tumor Foundation.

Cupid’s Undie Run, which takes place in cities across America each February, was created to aidneurofibromatosis (NF), a rare genetic disorder. The1-mile fun run encourages participants to wear just their underwear — despite the cold weather in many participating cities —though it’s not required. A party/awards ceremony also proceeds the run.

This year in New York City the underwear factor may have been a relief to participantsas temperatures reached nearly 60 with hardly a cloud in the sky.
