Philly Pretzel Factory currently has some 170 locations and 10 factories. They are known for their delicious pretzels and incredible dips like sugary Buttercreme.
The company recently announced plans to open 500 Pretzel Factory shops nationwide by 2020, including one in all 50 states, according to the Philadelphia Business Journal.
“Philly Pretzel Factory was founded in 1998 by college buddies Dan DiZio and Len Lehman who created a recipe unique to Philly, yet desired in any market,” the company says of their roots. “The concept was to bake Philly Style soft pretzels all day so that everyone could enjoy a soft pretzel that is served ‘Hot Outta the Oven’ as they walked through the door.”
DiZio had been selling pretzels since the age of 11.
Now Philly Pretzel Factory is worth some $50 million, with individual stores netting $1.7 million each a year.
