The 2017 Boston Common Christmas Tree is the biggest one yet, at nearly five-stories tall. The giant spruce arrived from Nova Scotia on Tuesday, just in time for the holiday season.
The Boston Common Holiday Tree Lighting celebration is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 30 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. near the Visitor Information Center on Tremont Street. The tree will be decorated with nearly 7,000 holiday lights, which will be turned on just before 8 p.m. that night. Shortly after its lighting, trees throughout the Common and Public Garden will also be lit. The annual event will wrap up with a fireworks display.
