Pagliacci headed to Coney Island

The Mercury Opera company will be taking their Edmonton-grown production of the opera Pagliacci to New York this summer, after a successful run of the play in the City of Champions.

The company hopes the play will be just as popular in the U.S., in the very place where the updated production is set — Coney Island.

“It’s a really strong show,” said Liz Lepper, the publicist for the Mercury Opera company.

“Because it’s on Coney Island, we hope to piggyback on the success that we’ve had here.”
