The Patriots finished the pre-season with a 2-2 record Thursday night as they fell to the Giants at MetLife Stadium, 16-13.
Rookie quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo played the entire game under center for the Pats and continued to impress. Garoppolo went 22-of-42 for 284 yards with one touchdown and one interception. The highlight of his night came in the second quarter when he hit returning wide receiver Aaron Dobson along the sideline for a 33-yard touchdown.
Two fourth quarter field goals by New York's Josh Brown did in the Pats after the game was tied at halftime, 10-10.
The Patriots' focus now shifts to roster cut-down day, which is Saturday. All NFL teams must cut down to 53 players.
The Pats open their 2014 regular season on Sunday, Sept. 7 in Miami against the Dolphins.
