Nicki Minaj is receiving backlash from Barbz and foes alike for an Instagram video she posted on Monday. In the video, an unidentified woman is yelling unintelligibly at a chuckling Nickiwho tries to engage her in conversation. You can hear the woman telling the “Side by Side” rapper to “go away,” while 33-year-old laughs and asks: “What did I do?” Many commenters found the video to be evidence of the rapstress bullying and mocking a mentally ill woman. The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)released a statement to TMZ condemning the rapper for invading the woman’s privacy. However, Nicki never says anything disrespectful or rude to the woman. And it’s also possible that Nicki doesn’t just go around assuming people have a mental illness. But to NAMI’s point about privacy, they’re right. As someone who is constantly at the mercy of strangers’ cameras, Nicki should know better.
