Nicole Kidman wants to do a comedy so bad, she’s willing to fall flat on her face. Her words, not mine!
Over the weekend at the Television Critics Association summer press tour the actress opened up about her roles in the second season of “Top of the Lake” and “Big Little Lies.” And trust, she knows she’s having the best year of her life. “I love that for the two series that I’ve done on TV, I’m sitting with women up here,” she said. “Is something changing?” Sure is, Kidman. The political climate of our country, and global warming for one.
When asked about returning to the small screen again, the 50-year-old said, “Would I love to do more TV? Absolutely. Is it in the future? I don’t know.”
Oh and also? She’d love if those TV roles were comedy which honestly, I wouldn’t mind. Have you guys seen “Practical Magic?” It’s basically a romantic comedy with witchcraft. Maybe that’s not what it’s supposed to be, but as far as I’m concerned it most definitely is.
“I would love to be able to do a comedy. I never get offered them. I always get offered dramas,” she said. “In this stage of my life, I am so up for anything. I’m willing to fall flat on my face. I know how to get back up again.” OK, Kidman. I see you.
“The Beguiled” star also cops to being inspired by her daughter at home. “I have a nine-year-old daughter who I’m sure has Lucille Ball in her,” she said. “I’m learning a lot of physical comedy from my nine-year-old daughter right now.” Ah, they start younger and younger.
