Don’t youhate when someone uses this rhetoric: I can’t be homophobic, I have a gay friend! That’s totally the stunt Trump’s team tried to pull when they claimed that Elton John would perform at Trump’s inauguration on January 20. A snippet of a BBC interview with a member of Trump’s transition team was shared on Twitter. He claims that Donald Trump will be the first US President to enter the office with a “pro-gay rights stance” and that Elton John’s performance at Trump’s opening ceremony reflects the president-elect’s “commitment to gay rights” the source said. Right. But according to the New York Times, Elton John’s team vehemently denied the claim. Look’s like Trump will have to find another token gay friend. Check out the snippet below.
