The NYPD has arrested a man they say is responsible for multiple Manhattan bank robberies this month.
Police have arrested a Brooklyn man they say is responsible for multiple bank robberies this month.
Dennis Nemirovskiy, 27, was arrested Friday on five charges of robbery, as well as criminal possession of stolen property.
The NYPD released video of Nemirovskiy earlier this month after he allegedly robbed two East Village banks on Oct. 4.
On Friday, police said Nemirovskiy entered a TD Bank at 885 Sixth Avenue, and passed a bank teller a note demanding money. The teller handed Nemirovskiy $190 in bills, which contained a dye pack that exploded when he left the bank, staining his jacket.
About half an hour later, police said Nemirovskiy demanded money at an Investors Bank branch at 267 Fifth Ave. He collected $1,870 in cash, and fled in a yellow taxi. A witness spotted the suspect, and officers intervened when Nemirovskiy got out of the cab at Bellevue Hospital.
Police also found the stained jacket in a garbage can outside the hospital.
Nemirovskiy collected $7400 during the four robberies, according to information released by the police.
