A baby panda did not live past a few days at the National Zoo in Washington, D.C.
On August 22, Mei Xiang, a giant panda gave birth to two baby cubs at the National Zoo, but the smaller of the two died eelier today.
The zoo was swapping each cub with the mother to allow each to nurse, while the other was bottle-fed and kept warm and safe inside an incubator.
The Smithsonian National Zoo tweeted the news and posted to their Facebook page. They have yet to release the cause of death.
