Photos taken outside Phillip Seymour Hoffman‘s New York City apartment building Sunday show authorities securing the area as the acclaimed actor’s body was removed from the home where he died.
Hoffman was discovered unresponsive with a needle in his arm and was later pronounced dead at the scene. Several varieties of drugs, including heroine, were found in his apartment, according to police.
The actor had publicly discussed his battles with addiction in the past, but had been sober for a number of years before reportedly struggling with relapse in recent months.
The results of an autopsy on Hoffman’s body are expected to be released no later than Tuesday.
