An adorable sloth required the assistance of officials in Ecuador after he tried to cross a highway — and latched onto the guardrail, unsure of how to complete his crossing.
On Friday, transit officials in the South American country posted pictures of the event on Facebook. RELATED: Lazy sloth enjoys its dinner eating on its back: Video ABC13 in Texas explained that the sloth is known in Ecuador as “oso perezoso” which translates to “lazy bear.” After an outpouring of public support and concern for the animal, government officials commented on the post, saying that the sloth was reviewed by a veterinarian who determined he was a bit rattled — but healthy enough to be returned to his natural habitat. “We are grateful to all those people who were interested in the health of the animal,” officials said. “We will continue to support [these]kind of cases along with the collaboration of the [citizenry].” Keep on keepin’ on, lazy bear.
