On Thursday, thousands of people who hail from Yemen and other supporters gathered at Borough Hall in Brooklyn to rally against President Donald Trump’s executive order on immigration.
Many Yemeni bodega owners closed their shops during the day to protest the temporary travel ban on refugees and travelers from seven mostly Muslim countries. Yemen is included in that list.

Members of the Yemeni community also gathered together to pray during the demonstration.
