Not even thundersnow could keep away the stylish dogs, cats, a couple of rats and even a bearded dragon from the 2017 New York Pet Fashion Show last night at the Hotel Pennsylvania.
Billed as the country’s largest charitable pet fashion show, now in its 14th year, the event’s theme was Global Couture for Animal Rescue with fashions that spanned from Russia to Paraguay strutting down the runway (and a poignant moment when three generations of Armenian women appeared in handmade outfits commemorating the Armenian genocide of 1915).

A special Broadway-themed segment of the show brought the hottest shows to life featuring an Alexander Hamilcat and the aforementioned bearded dragon rocking a vest inspired by Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical “School of Rock.”
The big Gold Paw Award winners of the night were a threesome from Texas who arrived in full Dia de Los Muertos regalia, dressed and made up as life-size sugar skeletons along with their two chihuahuas and a Yorkie. Check out all the action, which kicked off a weekend of pet-themed fun ahead of the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show next week.
