An allegedly drunken boater crashed and sank his 50-foot craft in Boston Harbor Saturday, according to Massachusetts State Police.
According to that outlet, the boat, named Sea Ray, struck a rock shortly after 7 p.m. Saturday, which threw the operator and five passengers forward into the front of the boat from the vessel’s flying bridge, according to police. All six were rescued. Police say all injuries sustained by those aboard were minor.
The driver, Paul Boulanger, a 44-year-old from North Andover, was charged with boating under the influence of alcohol.
The vessel, police said, sank and remained submerged overnight. Crews worked to recover the boat yesterday.
Police say the luxury boat hit a rock between Spectacle Island, a public park located about four miles offshore from downtown Boston, and Long Island Bridge, located off the coast of the Squantum peninsula in North Quincy.
