If you still had doubts about Prince Harry and Meghan Markledating, you can put them to rest. It’s official… formal-statement-released-by-the-Communications-Secretary-of-Prince-Harryofficial. Unfortunately, confirmation of he and Meghan’s relationship came in the form of a plea to British media outlets to give the 35-year-old a break. The couple have been dating since June and Prince Harry went to visit her in Toronto last month. But in the uncharacteristic statement, Prince Harry says his new boo “has been subject to a wave of abuse and harassment.” According to him, coverage of Meghan, who is half African-American, has been laced with “racial undertones” in addition to “outright sexism and racism” on social media. Meghan’s friends, family, and coworkers have also been targets by the media storm. Apparently there have been “nightly legal battles to keep defamatory stories out of papers.” He wants the press to “pause and reflect before any further damage is done.” While Prince Harry is on this full out mission to defend his girlfriend, we can’t even get a text back.
