It was Oct. 21, 2015 that Marty McFly traveled to in the original “Back to the Future” movie, and today the car-sharing service Lyft is offering free rides in Manhattan in the same model car that Doc Brown rigged to become a time machine. RELATED: ‘Back to the Future Part II’ and 12 other movies that got the future wrong The cars, specifically the DeLorean DMC-12, were shipped in from all over the country, according to The Verge, and will be picking up passengers for free 20-minute rides from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Just request a car through the Lyft app, which will have a McFly Mode for the day, and request a ride. You won’t be traveling through time, since it’s impossible to hit the magic 88 mph in Manhattan, but you’ll be the envy of everyone on the road, and isn’t that the real point in NYC?
