Sears is closing more locations around the country this fall.
Sears Holdings announced that it is closing 46 more Sears and Kmart locations across the country in November.
Employees working at 13 Kmart stores and 33 Sears stores were notified about the Kmart and Sears closings taking place in November during the holiday shopping season. Sears is closing its locations because of a dramatic loss of sales in the last few years and is looking to focus more on stores that are doing better in sales.
“As part of our ongoing efforts to streamline Sears Holdings’ operations, strengthen our capital position and focus on our best stores, this week the company informed associates at 46 unprofitable stores that we will be closing these stores in November 2018,” the company said in a statement.
“We continue to evaluate our network of stores, which is a critical component to our integrated retail transformation, and will make further adjustments as needed,” Sears Holdings added.
Sears announced it was shuttering more than 100 stores in January. The retailer announced another 100 store closures in May.
CNN reports that Sears Holdings has lost $112.2 billion since 2010 and total sales have plummeted 60% since then.
Liquidation sales will begin as early as August 30 at the store s closing.
