Like millions of others, Kerry O’Grady took to Facebook in the weeks before the election to express her support for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
But unlike her like-minded supporters,O’Grady is now being investigated by the Secret Service for her posts on the social media site, CNN reported. O’Grady, a senior Secret Service agent based in Denver, not only broke a federal law called the Hatch Act, which bans employees of the executive branch of the U.S. government from engaging in political activity, she also said that she would not take a bullet for now-President Donald Trump. So I keep quiet and skirt the median. To do otherwise can be a criminal offense for those in my position. Despite the fact that I am expected to take a bullet for both sides. “But this world has changed and I have changed. And I would take jail time over a bullet or an endorsement for what I believe to be disaster to this country and the strong and amazing women and minorities who reside here. Hatch Act be damned. I am with Her.” The Secret Service said in a statement Tuesday that it is aware of O’Grady’s postsand will take “quick and appropriate action. … Any allegations of misconduct are taken seriously and swiftly investigated.” When reached by CNN, O’Gradydeclined to comment.
