On Sunday, the 9/11 memorial ceremony will take place in Lower Manhattan to commemorate the victims lost on September 11, 2001. This will be the 15-year anniversary of the terrorist attacks.
During the ceremony the names of victims will be read aloud and there will be moments of silence taking place throughout the morning.
Beginning at 8:46 a.m.. there will be a livestream of the memorial event. For those attending, be prepared for several street closures in the area. The New York City Police Department has announced a list of street closures that will be in effect starting as early as 6 a.m. on Sunday in the 9-11 Memorial area. Streets will reopen around 3 p.m. according to the NYPD and Department of Transportation. The following streets will be closed during the event:
