Shake Shack is sweetening fall with a new honey-pepper fried chicken sandwich.
Today, the chain launched its second venture in the chicken sandwich world: the Salt & Pepper Honey Chick’n ($6.29), made with a chicken breast simmered in buttermilk marinade then fried, topped with salted honey and ground black pepper on a potato bun. The mild flavor defies the current trend of needs-soft-serve-to-stop-the-burn hot chicken, but maybe our tastebuds could use a cooling-down period. RELATED:Shake Shack’s new chicken sandwich comes with three big caveats The burger chain launched its first chicken sandwich, the Chick’n Shack, at the height of last summer’s fried chicken frenzy, and promptly sold out of them, somehow. In any case, the Salt & Pepper Honey Chick’n is also being marketed as being available for a limited time, so get thee to Brooklyn — the only borough where you can get the new sandwich for now. Find it at 409 Fulton St. (downtown), 1 Old Fulton St. (DUMBO) and 170 Flatbush Ave. by the Barclays Center.
