It has been a chaotic Friday morning for subway riders trying to get in and out of Brooklyn.
A signal problem in the outer borough has caused extensive reroutes and delays to the 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 train, according to the MTA.
The incident stated a little after 9 a.m. when the emergency brakes were applied on several trains near Eastern Parkways-Brooklyn Museum.
Due to the problem, some Brooklyn-bound 2 trains are terminating at Times Square-42nd Street, Chambers Street or Wall Street. Brooklyn-bound 3 trains are running on the 1 line from Chambers Street to South Ferry. Service on the 5 is operating between East 180th St. and Dyre Avenue.
The morning delays had commuters fuming on social media, many saying they were running late to work or were stuck underground for long periods of time.
“Thanks MTA for having me stuck on a train for an hour and a half,” one Twitter user wrote.
The MTA also took to social media to apologize for the inconvenience and let commuters know that if they were impacted by the delays, the may request a “delay verification note.” Along with the signal problem, the B, D, Q and N lines were also dealing with delays Friday morning due to FDNY activity at 7th Avenue. Southbound B trains are running on the D line, and southbound Q trains are running on the N line from DeKalb Avenue to Coney Island – Stillwell Avenue.
