Snoop Dogg calls Caitlyn Jenner a ‘science project’
Rapper Snoop Dogg, in the wake of Caitlyn Jenner’s debut on Vanity Fair, posted an image on Instagram that referred to Jenner as a “science project.”
The image, a picture of Akon, had the following message:
“Shout out to Akon! He is about to supply 600 million africans with solar power. I’m really upset that this isn’t major news but that science project bruce jenner is #Society.”
Although some commenters supported Snoop Dogg’s message many responded with anger at the rapper and his supporters.
“I’m college educated and concentrated on gender studies focusing on the biology. You? Yeah, thought so.” wrote Instagram user Heytothejude. “ I love how no one wants to comment on the statistics about Trans youth killing themselves with the minority trans youth having the highest rates. Just attack me for listing actual scientific facts. Funny thing about science is it’s right even if you don’t agree.”
This isn’t the first instance of transphobia and homophobia from Snoop Dogg.
In September of last year BuzzFeed reported that the rapper shared an image from another user’s account with a gay slur.
“U na ya boyfriend since u like jumpn on my page disrespectn bitch boy go suck ya man n get off my line f. a. G.” Snoop wrote, before taking the image down.
More recently, in January,The Independent reported that Snoop Dogg came under fire for sharing an image on Instagram with the caption, “Whose auntcle is this?”
The user in the image was last reported to be seeking out legal action against Snoop Dogg.
