Source: Alphonso Davies being trailed by three English Premier League giants

Alphonso Davies doesn’t turn 17-years old until November but already the Vancouver Whitecaps attacker is turning some serious heads not just in MLS but in Europe as well.

Davies, who scored the first goal last week in leading the Whitecaps over the New York Red Bulls and into the semifinals of the CONCACAF Champions League, is being monitored by several major clubs. A league source, speaking on the condition of anonymity, tells Metro that Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool are among several European giants trailing the player.

The high-level of interest is a major endorsement of the young teen who not only boasts speed and technical ability but has grown tactically under head coach Carl Robinson, a former Welsh international.

Last year, Davies made eight appearances and two starts for the Canadian club in his rookie season in MLS. He hasn’t scored a goal in league play although he has been impressive and hasn’t looked out of place. Born in Liberia, Davies isn’t a Canadian citizen yet.
