The Celtics will surely be involved in the NBA buyout market as they typically are this time of year. It has already been reported that Boston will look at bringing in Enes Kanter from the Knicks but they may not stop there. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN the Chicago Bulls are expected to buy out veteran big man Robin Lopez.
Lopez is 30-years-old and is a season removed from averaging double figures in points. The Stanford product is a legit 7-feet tall and could provide the Celtics will more beef up front. Boston will likely see big men like Giannis Antetokounmpo and Joel Embiid in the playoffs so having options in the frontcourt won’t hurt. Another name that has been brought up in buy out talks in recent days is DeAndre Jordan.
The New York Times’ Marc Stein, however, reported shortly after the trade deadline on Thursday that Jordan would remain with the New York Knicks for the remainder of the season.
