After President Donald Trump tweeted a promise to look into voter fraud Wednesday morning, reports have indicated he might want to start in the White House.
In tweets Thursday morning, the president said he would ask for a “major”investigation into voter fraud,including those registered to vote in two states, illegal voters and people on the voting rolls who are deceased. Top-level Trump adviser and former Breitbart news executive Steve Bannonfalls into one of those categories.

Bannon is registered to vote in both Sarasota County, Florida, and in New York City,the Sarasota Herald-Tribune reported. Bannon voted in November via absentee ballot at his West 40th Street address in New York. Though he did not vote in Florida, his voter status remains active there, and in New York, according to the report. It’s up to state election offices to notify prior addresses when voters move, but Bannon’svoter registration history shows a history of odd addresses.
In August,The Guardiannewspaper published a story questioning whether Bannon was breaking voter registration laws, as he was registered to vote in Miami-Dade County at an address to a home he did not own and did not live at, but had rented for his ex-wife. No laws were broken because Bannon never voted there. He reportedly lived in Laguna Beach, California, at the time. It was around the time when the article came out that Bannon switched his registration to the Sarasota County address.
Breitbart, the alt-right media platform Bannon helped launch, has been critical of supposed insistences of voter fraud and strongly advocates for voter identification laws. Trump has blamed his loss of the popular vote on election fraud.
