Necomimi
How about using a pair of cat ears to measure your brain waves? Does it feel odd to you? Well, you may change your mind if you know that the feline fea- tures move and flick according to your mood. Called Necomimi, this gadget wants to spread cuteness while capturing reactive movements and saying how you are feeling at the present moment. For example, if you’re focused, the ears will perk up and if you’re relaxed, the ears will droop down. At Amazon.com, $49.99 Dubbed the “world’s first photosynthetic living matter- infused 3D-printed wearable” (wow, that’s a mouthful), the Mushtari looks like something out of your high school biology book. The wacky wearable is 2made up of 58 meters of 3D- printed tubes arranged to emulate the humangastrointestinal tract. To explore this vision, the device hosts synthetic micro-organisms that are capable of fluorescing bright colors in darkness and producing sugar or biofuels when exposed to the sun. Its creator MIT professor Neri Oxman hopes Mushtari will shed light on the future possibility of synthetic technology mimicking human organs.Research at MIT Media Lab, no price yet.
