Jennifer Lawrence gets engaged to Cooke Maroney
Jlaw is officially off the market. The Hunger Games star is now engaged to New York art dealer Cooke Maroney. Maroney and Lawrence have been dating since last Spring and news broke of their engagement earlier this week. Lawrence talked about her anticipation to get married in 2015 in an interview with Vogue “I can’t wait to be married. I feel like if I find that one person who I want to spend the rest of my life with, who I want to be the father of my children, that I would absolutely not f— it up. But I’m also not banking on that.” An eye witness also spotted JLaw and her beau at dinner shortly after getting engaged and told Page Six TV they caught a glimpse of the ring,“ it was a giant rock. They seemed like they were celebrating and people were talking about it. The ring was very noticeable.” The engagement definitely counts as some of the top celebrity news of the week.
21 Savage is taken into custody
Rapper 21 Savage was taken into custody this week for allegedly being in the country illegally. The musician’s lawyer, Charles Kuck released a statement about how 21 Savage “never hid his immigration status” from authorities and that they were trying to “unnecessarily punish” and “intimidate” him into leaving the country. “The Department of Homeland Security has known his address and his history since his filing for the U visa in 2017, yet they took no action against him until this past weekend.” Kuck continued, “We and he will fight for his release, for his family, and his right to remain in our country.” Immigration authorities have not yet responded to this case, and it is not fully known yet if the rapper will officially be deported.
Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin open up to Vogue Magazine
The young couple opened up to the magazine about their marriage troubles and how they are working together to make their relationship stronger. “The thing is, marriage is very hard,” Baldwin said. “That is the sentence you should lead with. It’s really effing hard.” The couple went into detail about their marriage, “I want people to know that we’re coming from a really genuine place. But we’re two young people who are learning as we go. I’m not going to sit here and lie and say it’s all a magical fantasy. It’s always going to be hard. It’s a choice…But there’s something beautiful about it anyway—about wanting to fight for something, commit to building with someone.”
Ariana Grande backs out of performing at the Grammys
Ariana Grande was set to perform at the 2019 Grammy Awards this Sunday. However, after being “disrespected” by producers, the God is a Woman singer decided to skip attending the awards show altogether. Reportedly producers did not want Grande to perform her latest single 7 Rings from her album Thank U, Next. Then producers compromised saying that Grande could perform the single in a medley, but the one stipulation was they got to choose the second song that would be performed. Grande turned down the producers, and now Lady Gaga will be performing this year at the show instead. A similar occurrence happened last year when producers refused to let Lorde perform a song from her album Melodrama.
Pete Davidson and Kate Beckinsale spark dating rumors
Davidson and Beckinsale first sparked dating rumors after getting cozy at a Golden Globes afterparty. Then the Saturday Night Live star and the Underworld actress were seen leaving Davidson’s comedy show in Los Angeles together. The pair were photographed holding hands and reportedly spent the night at Davidson’s hotel in Santa Monica. A source told Cosmopolitan that the comedian is Beckinsale’s type. “Kate is into Pete, and he’s exactly her type… she likes guys who make her laugh”, the source continued to talk about when the pair first met, “Kate and Pete were flirting…people approached her, and she didn’t want to talk to anyone else.” The surprising new pairing certainly counts as some of the top celebrity news of the week.
